The first week of my 12-month retirement hustle is officially done—and the wheels are already turning fast.
Started Building the First App: PlayTalk This week, I kicked off development for the first mobile app of this journey: PlayTalk. It's a live sports commentary app where users can comment on football matches in real time, connect with other fans, and be part of the game-day buzz. The goal? Launch it fast, learn from it, and start growing a loyal user base.
From wireframes to early builds, I've already made solid progress. PlayTalk isn't just a concept anymore—it's becoming real.
Searching for Office Space I also began scouting potential offices or co-working spaces. While I can work from home, I know the value of being in a focused, professional environment—especially with the intense goals I've set. The right space will help me stay locked in, minimize distractions, and build momentum faster.
Structuring the App Roadmap I sat down and mapped out the full development journey. I've decided to build four mobile apps during this challenge—spending roughly 3 months on each from start to finish:
Month 1: Development Month 2: Testing, UI/UX polishing Month 3: Marketing and launch Each app will be designed with a purpose, monetized properly, and ideally positioned for either recurring income or potential acquisition.
Weekly Income: £300 This week, I made £300—not a huge number, but it's a start. It reminds me that momentum comes in layers. That income will go back into my tools, subscriptions, and investments into these projects.
Reflections The first week felt electric. Starting something new always brings a wave of motivation—but what matters is staying consistent once that hype fades. I've locked in my vision, started executing, and planted the first seeds.
